International Day for Biodiversity 16

May 22 is observed as International Day of Biodiversity. This year, a rally has been organized by the Rajasthan State Biodiversity Board on this occasion, in which around 600 Scouts, Guides, NCC Cadet, School students and other volunteers have participated. This rally was flagged off by Hon'ble Forest and Environment Minister Shri Rajkumar Rinwa from the front of Albert Hall Museum. Children were holding slogans and banners related to biodiversity in their hands. Rajasthan State Biodiversity Board Chairman Shri PK Merakup, Environment Secretary Shri R Grover and Member Secretary of the Board Shri Devendra Bharadwaj were also present on the occasion.

Slogans related to biodiversity conservation and sustainable use of available resources wereraised by the children during the rally. The rally reached the information center located in frontof Sawai Mansingh Hospital, passing through Newgate, Yadgar. All the children wereadministered an oath by Shri PK Merakup to cooperate in the implementation of the Act relatedto conservation of biodiversity and sustainable use of available resources, preventing loss ofbiodiversity. After that, short films were telecasted on the sacrifice made by Amrita Devi to savebiodiversity, importance of water conservation, desert land biodiversity, deepening crisis on statebird from biodiversity destruction. Shri Parvat Singh Rathod, Biodiversity Campaigner and otherofficials of Biodiversity Board apprised about the role of children in biodiversity conservationand sustainable use of available resources.
