‘a first of its kind in the Country’

– Incentive scheme for Green rated companies

RSPCB & CII together launched the ‘Green rating scheme for Industries in Rajasthan’, through a virtual program on 7th July 2021. ‘Better Environment, Better Tomorrow’ is RSPCB’s aspiration for the state. The program is aimed at enhancing and motivating the environmental performance of companies in Rajasthan, thereby enabling them to compete globally, in addition to achieving resource conservation and cost benefits.

Ms Veenu Gupta, Chairperson, RSPCB, GoR, virtually launched the scheme on 7th July 2021 and gave her special address to the Industry. She stated, “ Today, Industries are facing a lot of challenges, the recent being COVID. They face huge environmental pressures owing to air pollution, water pollution, and the management of hazardous waste. With constant changes in environmental regulations, industries are in a reaction mode. The need of the hour is for industries to shift from being reactive to proactive”.

GreenCo rating is a pioneering initiative by CII benefitting industries to become futuristic. We are sure that the joint program is a win-win situation for industries. An exclusive incentive scheme has been launched for industries that include a reduction in consent fee and an increase in the consent period for different levels of Green rating to encourage performance. We encourage a large number of industries to participate in the program. 1000 industries by the end of 2021, particularly the medium and small scale industries, owing to their numbers and distribution. Ms.Gupta thanked CII for the joint effort in launching the initiative.
